Teaming up to reform health care in Ontario

With the goal to end hallway health care and make care for people more connected and seamless, Health Minister Christine Elliott announced a massive reform to health care delivery across the province in February 2019.
Shortly after Elliot introduced the Ontario Health Teams (OHT) model, TAIBU made critical next steps on behalf of the community.
By summer, TAIBU joined over 40 health care service providers in Scarborough to support and shape an OHT dedicated to our community.
To date, TAIBU has played a significant role ensuring that equity principles and the unique needs of Black, Indigenous and Francophone communities in Scarborough are considered. TAIBU is also part of the Governance Working Group.
By late 2019, the Scarborough OHT celebrated its first milestone of completing and submitting its Self-Assessment application.
